Zirconia as a chairside material
Session details
Much has changed since the introduction of CAD CAM materials in the 1980s.
While in the past materials for the laboratory were pressed in block form, in recent years a variety of materials have been developed for the needs of chairside Dentistry.
For a long time it seemed impossible to use zirconia as chairside material. The sintering times of up to 12 hours were simply too long. With the development of new generations of zirconia, the sintering time could be reduced to less than 30 minutes. The lecture shows which points have to be considered in order to use zirconium oxide successfully in daily practice.
